Maiju Suomi
Maiju Suomi is an architect (MSc), a doctoral candidate and an educator working in the field of environmental architecture. In her practice and teaching she is intrigued by the possibilities of expressing different world views through the embodied multisensory experience of space. She has taught at Aalto University Department of Architecture since 2016 and is currently university teacher in humanitarian architecture.
She is working towards her doctorate at Aalto University Department of Design in Empirica research group. In her practice-led research she explores how moving beyond a human-centered conception of the world affects design thinking in architectural practice and how it could translate into architectural aesthetics.
